Cory Phillips
Dr. Cory B. Phillips holds post-doctoral fellowship honors from The University of Michigan (2000) in Chemical Engineering, a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from The University of Iowa (1999), and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (1993). His field of expertise includes heterogeneous catalyst discovery, design and development, microreaction engineering, hydrogen generation systems, and general surface chemistry. Currently, he holds a senior research engineering position at ConocoPhillips Technology Center in Bartlesville, OK. His research interests center around understanding the role of highly paraffinic mixtures in the development of effective tribofilms on automotive surfaces, and the elucidation of structure-function relationships in advanced hydrocarbons for internal combustion engine applications. In 2005, Dr. Phillips worked as the lead technical liaison for ConocoPhillips in their automotive group located in Detroit, MI tracking business and technology trends in fuels, lubricants, automotive hardware and related products. Prior to joining ConocoPhillips, Dr. Phillips served as a staff researcher from 2002 to 2005 at The University of Michigan managing the interdisciplinary hydrogen generation project that is now known as the Hydrogen Energy Technology Laboratory. From 200-2002, he worked for Honda R&D America in Columbus, OH as a research engineer designing several families of on-board reactors for the next-generation of fuel-cell vehicles (FCVs).
